Donkey trekking is an excellent combination of slow walking with donkeys through the best spots in the Serra D’Arga mountain area. Our donkeys are well trained and will be your partners during this program – they will help you carry the children on their back or carry your picnic in their saddle bags.
Day 1: Arrival in Serra D’Arga Mountain
Day 2: The wildlife in the Serra D’Arga Natural Park - 7 km or 16 km
You will meet your donkey and be shown how to handle and look after him during the walk after which we will set off along ancient paths used by local shepherds. There, you will be able to try to watch the garrano - wild horses but also different interesting kinds of fauna and flora especially typical from Serra D’Arga.
Day 3: Montaria watermills and Pincho waterfall - 10 km
This walk will take you all around the main river in Serra D´Arga. You will walk along old water pipes that carry water from the river and take it into the corn fields. Afterwards, you will arrive to the main square of Montaria with bars and restaurants where we will be able to stop for a drink or some food.
During this tour you will pass through many different landscapes, the banks of the river surrounded by watermills and the mountain areas with wonderful panoramic views.
Along this walk you will visit Pincho waterfall and lagoons, where you can make a break to relax and enjoy nature or even have a swim in the crystal-clear water.
