




Leave the busy city for a day and book this trip with Descubra Minho to discover the natural beauty that is Serra D’Arga Nature Reserve (1 hour from Porto city center), its wonderful 7 lagoons, visit watermills that are still working today and even… make your own cornbread!
9:00 a.m or 10:00 a.m – Pick up at your accommodation in Porto or other place.
Visit to Montaria mountain village and walking tour through the waterfalls and the 7 lagoons of Serra D’Arga (during this tour, if you only wish, there is time for you to have a swim in the lagoons).
12:30 a.m – Picnic lunch with local food and vinho verde (honey, homemade cornbread, chouriço, ham, fruit of the season, water, orange juice, wine and a local liquor)*
After our picnic lunch we will visit a farm in Montaria village where you can learn the secrets of making homemade cornbread after which you will be able to make your own cornbread.
Afterwards, while the bread gets ready in the oven, we will visit the inside of a still working watermill and learn about the corn cycle – all the steps of how corn becomes the bread.
The tour ends at the farm tasting your freshly made hot cornbread with honey, jam, tea and coffee.
5:00 p.m or 6:00 p.m – Drop off at your accommodation.
Walking easy level: 5 kms walking tour through the seven lagoons.
Walking moderate level: 5 kms walking through the seven lagoons + 4 kms walking through the Montaria watermills.
